In my opinion, playing saxophone and the occasional drums is a good combination. That's some true talent. Saxophonist Vince Ingala returns with his 8th release this summer, Escape With Me. He recently said that this album “is a snapshot of time” - a collection of songs that reflects where he was with his life when he wrote it and what inspired him. Check out his version of The Delfonics ‘La-La (Means I Love You)’- an updated cool smooth take on the ‘67 hit even with Vincent laying down the “whoo-hoo-hoo” vocal part sounding a bit like George Michael.
His style of playing also reminds me of Warren Hill and Dave Koz - both with their wondrous rhythms and romantic arrangements. But for this album - his 8th after breaking onto the smooth scene when he was 17 - shows some maturity and growth as an artist. Songs like ‘Fantasy Or Reality’, ‘That Familiar Feeling’ and ‘Midnight Confession’ all conjure feelings of lust, love and hope. He said recently that we all need music more than ever in our lives. Positive vibes indeed my man. Escape with Vincent Ingala - you're gonna love it.
