The smooth jazz scene has never seen a trumpeter, composer, and producer who is able to bring Christmas to life quite like Rick Braun can. It's Christmas, his third holiday album since 1994, comes with ten great tracks including two originals and a vocal title track featuring Rick delivering the song in his cool ‘Rat Pack’ style. Now let’s get to the really terrific holiday favorites, including ‘Do You Hear The Angels’ where Rick and his band manage to beautifully blend ‘Joy To The World’, ‘Do You Hear What I Hear?’, ‘Angels We Have Heard On High’ and ‘Oh Come All Ye Faithful’. This track serves to  highlight his passion for family and fun during the holidays. ‘The Good Kings’ is another medley combining ‘We Three Kings’ and ‘Carol Of The Bells’ to create a late night chill atmosphere. It’s always a challenge for artists to record and write Christmas songs, since they are all usually written in the heat of the summer.  This was the case for Braun, as it was even back in the summer of 1945 when Roberts Wells and Mel Torme were sweating it out, writing the beloved holiday favourite, ‘The Christmas Song’. Rick's version of this classic is by far the best I've heard in years. Add this album to your library - your family and friends will be impressed and uplifted this Christmas season!
