On Monday July 18th, the Wave was finally restored to the FM dial when Wave 98.3FM began live broadcasts from downtown Vancouver. The Vancouver station also began streaming its programming by twinning with the wave.fm stream. This programming is also heard in Ontario on 95.9 and 94.7 HD-2. At the present time, there is no local Ontario advertising or promotion included in the programming. However, before long, we hope to have the technology in place to allow us to run a separate feed for wave.fm and the HD stations so that advertising and promotion of local Ontario events for our local clients can be restored. If you’re wondering about the whereabouts of your favourite Wave hosts, all of them have shows on the Wave but in different time slots because of the time change between West and East.
Vickie’s show begins at 1pm weekdays EST, and Gary’s evening shows each night begin at 9pm EST. Stu is presently on air on Saturdays starting at 1pm EST.
Our new weekday hosts are Tara Jean, 8:30am-1pm, Danny Mags from 4pm-9pm.
The music selections that are playing now are the same songs you were previously enjoying on the Wave. We’re excited to share these Wave artists with a new W coast fan base.
